a poem from April 2007

melodramatic scintillation
tears of blood, sweat, lust
cunning blindness
whispers of cannibals
fading sunset to sweet dreams
blindfolded and starving
imagine flesh ripping
with only the touch of a feather
crawling into your heart
like needles
hypodermic sewing needles?
it's your fathoms
your marbles trip you up
falling to open the cocoon
to spit out your remains

dwell, we dwell (hell?)
and there we are stuck
on deserted islands
with only part a mind
skin and bones fragile
crumble and wither
in the firefly glow

light
burning it all away
for the phoenix to rise again
there will be light for you
